AI Toolbox is a site about artificial intelligence, and we use AI in our own work too. We think you deserve to know exactly where and how. This page explains our use of AI in both the tools and the content, the human oversight around it, and the honest limitations you should keep in mind.
AI in our tools
Some of our tools are powered by AI language models — for example the AI Email Writer, AI Paragraph Writer, AI Text Summarizer and AI Rewriter. When you use one of these, the text you submit is sent to an AI model to generate a response, and the result is returned to you.
- Output is a starting point. AI writing tools produce drafts. They can be inaccurate, generic or occasionally wrong, so review and edit anything before you use it.
- Verify facts. AI models can state incorrect information confidently (a "hallucination"). Always check names, numbers, quotes and any factual claim against a reliable source.
- Many tools use no AI at all. Our calculators, converters, image and PDF tools run entirely in your browser with no AI involved.
AI in our content
We use AI assistance to help draft some of our guides and tool descriptions — it is a fast way to get a first draft on the page. That draft is always reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a person on our editorial team before it is published, following our Editorial Policy. We do not publish unreviewed AI output, and we do not invent authors, credentials or reviews to make content look more authoritative than it is.
Human oversight
The common thread is that a human is always in the loop. We test the tools, we review the writing, and we take responsibility for what is published here. AI helps us work faster; it does not get the final say.
Your privacy
- Browser-based tools stay on your device. Our calculators, converters, text, image and PDF tools process your input locally — your files and text are not uploaded.
- AI tools send your input to a model. To generate a result, the AI-powered tools transmit the text you enter to the AI service that produces the response. Do not paste confidential or sensitive information into them.

Why we are upfront about this
Plenty of sites use AI quietly and hope you do not notice. We would rather tell you, explain the limits, and help you use these tools well — because teaching people to get genuinely useful results from AI is the whole point of AI Toolbox.
